During the course of different performances Servite High School stage happened to collapse at Anaheim causing dozens of injuries, says the rescue teams. The local police official Lt. Tim Schmidt said that 250 students were performing singing and dancing performances when they fell down.
Stephanie Stevenson the witness of the scene said to a private TV channel “everyone was jumping madly and the front row fell down along with the wooden stage”. On the other hand, Sabrina Lee said that “we were jumping around and we had done this 5 times before”. She further adds, suddenly all the girls standing front of me disappeared and I ran away from the broken stage.
It is assumed that woody stage could not bear the heavy weight of 250 students and it suddenly fell down. Besides, more than 600 spectators were sitting in the auditorium to see the performance of the students.
A student of Servite High School said to a private news agency that “we are really lucky that we have not been seriously injured and it was quick and sudden collapse”.
It goes without saying, hundreds of people gathered before the hospital to show their support with the injured students and prayed for their speedy recovery. On the other hand, investigators have started questioning about the stage weight and other official formalities from the school’s authorities.
Lastly, Rosary Principal Judy Luttrell said in a statement published on official website of the school that “we request everyone to pray for our injured students and we are thankful to all of for providing quick assistance to the School management”.
